My client has an exciting opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to work with the BME Community (Black Minority Ethnics) in the Scunthorpe region.

The purpose of the role is to support members of the BME Communities on a range of issues related to their housing and be sensitive to religious and cultural needs.
To liaise with a range of statutory, voluntary and other agencies on the customers behalf.
Provide general support to customers and have an understanding of the issues faced by BME communities in the North Lincolnshire region.

In addition, you will be expected to carry out the following duties;

- Assist the Housing Support Team Leader in drawing up support plans for customers and carry out regular reviews of these.
- Maintain regular contact with customers and offer support. Offer support on matters such as settling in to their home and help with practical issues such as budgeting, welfare benefits and general life skills, taking responsibility, dealing with employers, completing forms, signposting to other services, accessing language tuition
- Keep up to date with relevant changes in legislation, procedures and good practice and undertake relevant training.
- Carry out regular reviews of support plans.

Experience of delivering support services to a diverse client groups will be an advantage together with;

- Knowledge of how to provide structured support to achieve positive outcomes
- Previous experience working with a variety of issues, eg mental or physical health, learning disabilities, domestic violence, ex offenders, alcohol or substance misuse.
