Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Permanent Postion - Based In Humberside - £40-45k

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and manages the EIC Team consisting of a Control Technician and Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians. The jobholder will also be responsible for all EIC contractors on site. It is planned that a future apprentice training program will be implemented which will require a large input.


Key results expected from job:

Key areas of accountability will include, but not limited to:
Site compliance with all statutory regulations including:
Electricity at Work regs
DSEAR regs (electrical aspects of gas and dust)
HS (G) 85
BS7671
IEC61511
COMAH permit obligations
Site Electrical Duty Holder
Senior Authorised Person for VFL electrical system
Departmental compliance with all VFL management systems including those associated with ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 and FEMAS.
Equipment condition monitoring
Planned maintenance / plant outage turnaround
Capital projects
Budget management
Selection, training and sustained competence of the EIC team
People productivity and development

The chosen individual will be required to be self driven, commercially focused with a sound understanding of the importance of teamwork, with good interpersonal and coaching skills.

Challenges and complexity:

The job holder may be part of the Emergency Response Team and may be called upon to be part of the Site Incident Management Team.

Freedoms and limitations:

The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible to the Engineering Manager for delivery of all aspects of electrical engineering.

Experience and expertise (refer to the job not the incumbent):

The Electrical Systems Engineer will possess detailed knowledge and experience of electrical equipment used in continuous processes including:
High voltage systems and equipment up to and including 33kV
Low voltage systems and equipment including intelligent motor control and protection
DCS and instrumentation systems

The Electrical Systems Engineer will have experiences and a proven track record of working in a technical management position on a large scale industrial site and will also be highly competent in interpersonal, coaching, team leadership and analytical skills.

The following list of qualifications defines the level of underpinning knowledge to support the contribution required of the role of the Electrical Systems Engineer.

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
Member of Institution of Engineering Technology (or similar)
NEBOSH certificate

The Electrical Systems Engineer will need to establish key relationships with the following groups:
3rd party service providers
Operations team
Mechanical Engineering Team
Maintenance Management System Co-ordinator
Senior leadership team
Other organisations on site
External bodies such as suppliers, customers, HMRC, HSE, EA, technology providers, management systems auditors, best practice and professional bodies
