We are looking for candidates to take on this temporary role of ICT Desktop Support, for a 5 week contract.
Our client is looking for temporary cover for there ICT Infrastructure Service Support desk. The council have a vast infrastructure covering over 5000 machines 200 servers and over 6000 users.
The Infrastructure Service Desk team is a specialised area contributing to the strategic development of the server/desktop infrastructure support and its efficient operation. The post undertakes highly skilled support and fault finding duties relating to these functions.
General
Work will include the support of PC/Thin client terminals in windows server based environment.
Technical incident management, First-line IT support via remote access and on site where required
Responsibilities
* Responsibility to all levels of the Council for general support of ICT Infrastructure and to ensure general business continuity and service level commitments.
* Responsibility to any strategic partners and suppliers of the Council who use electronic services e.g. on-line procurement and invoicing.
* Indirect responsibility to all Council customers receiving a service through the use of ICT
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
* Qualified in the use of current Windows Operating Systems and applications, such as Windows XP, MS Office 2003, Exchange 2003.
* Has operational knowledge and experience of MS Active Directory Structure and group policies
* Installation of update patches and service packs relative to support of computer systems
* Experience of configuring/troubleshooting Thin Client workstations
* Experience providing user assistance with hardware and system support software problems;
* Maintain security and confidentiality standard
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of ITIL processes
* MCSE or MCSA
* Microsoft Office Specialist
* Knowledge of Mobile device administration, specifically Blackberries/XDA's
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
The post holder would be expected to have at least
1. 3 to 6 years practical experience within the ICT industry.
Evidence of experience in the following:
* Working as a member or leading a project team
* Analytical skills and fault resolution
* Participation in a project crossing other areas of ICT
* Ability to liaise with external suppliers
* Ability to liaise and work with external consultants on a variety of projects
* Ability to deal with other public bodies
* Direct involvement with elected members, chief and senior officers
* Ability to prioritise conflicting tasks
* Experience with working in a team
* Customer Focused
