Senior Project Manager

Location: Bradford
Salary: £400 - £500 per day – Contract up to 12 months
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
Closing Date: 9th October 2009

Purpose of Role

The Project Delivery Team deliver all of the Society’s complex cross functional projects, ensuring they keep to budget, scope and plan, whilst ensuring they offer a high level of quality and service to all stakeholders.
As the Senior Project Manager you will have responsibility for leading and motivating both project and business resources , both internal and external, to deliver their agreed project outputs and provide leadership, innovation and direction in addressing the challenges, issues and risks encountered throughout a projects lifecycle.
You will facilitate discussions, challenge as required and gain agreement from stakeholders by establishing and managing their expectations. You will ensure that all documentation has the appropriate level of detail and sits comfortably within the business requirements.
You will also actively promote an environment of service excellence within your department, whilst ensuring a delivery schedule that is both quality and efficiency driven.

If you:

• Have extensive knowledge of managing a small number of major projects simultaneously;
• Be skilled in Agile Project Management and software development techniques;
• Are qualified in DSDM, RUP, XP and/or SCRUM;
• Have excellent project management skills and be used to dealing with both IT & business users to address problems/risks and produce detailed documentation to articulate existing and proposed solutions;
• Have knowledge of structured project management techniques and experience of implementation;
• Have excellent problem solving skills with the ability to view beyond the obvious using internal and external 3rd party resources;
• Have the capability to use a range of management styles dependent on circumstances and audience;
• Understanding of business processes associated with the retail finance business;
• Have commercial knowledge to allow the shaping of project direction;
• Have strong written and verbal communications;
• Are able to demonstrate business achievements and a motivation to succeed.
