A school Data Officer is required to work at an Academy in Grimsby. The role is a temporary position starting ASAP with a view to go permanent if the right candidate is found.
The Data Officer will assist in the development of data support/management to underpin teaching, learning and Academy management.
The ideal candidate will have previous school experience in a similar role and be confident using the SIMS database.Â
Main Responsibilities
Â
1. Assists with complex analysis of student data to identify performance, highlight progress, identify development opportunities, report on performance and contribute to the Academy€˜s development.
Â
2. Assists with complex analysis to highlight problem areas, specific issues and trends to develop effective approaches and a pro-active programme to respond to the issues identified, improve performance and comply with the Academy€™s development plan.

3. Management of the SIMS and other Academy associated databases.
Â
4. Co-ordinate analysis of all data and reports to highlight progress, identify and exploit development opportunities, comment on resource utilisation, contribute to the Academy€™s improvement and development and comply with statutory reporting obligations. Facilitate benchmarking and demonstrate best value.

5. Design, develop and implement manual and computerised management information systems, office Practices, protocols and procedures to record, process, report information and complete returns.

6. Identify, investigate and report any discrepancies or areas of concern to ensure that appropriate action is instigated and commitment is contained within Academy targets.
Â
7. Oversee and participate in preparation of complex documents, promotional materials, records, information, reports, returns and analysis to inform and support Academy management, report performance, comply with statutory obligations and inform Academy decision making.
Â
8. Assists in the development and management of an integrated ICT strategy to provide effective management information systems, maximise resource effectiveness, support education activity, inform management planning and comply with strategic and operational obligations.
Â
9. Manage the examination process ensuring that all students are registered with appropriate examination boards, arranges timetables and accommodation, receive, stores and issues examination papers in a secure manner, checks and dispatches completed scripts, circulates results and issues certificates.

10. To establish a safe and calm atmosphere conducive to learning and ensure the safety and well being of students, staff and visitors.

11. To contribute to the co-curricular or House activities programme.
Â
12. To meet the reasonable expectations and requests of the Principal to serve the needs of the Academy€™s students and staff, as expressed in the support staff contract.
Skills Required:
-School experience
-Excellent communication and problem solving skills
-Good knowledge of ICT and school systems- SIMS
-Team player with the ability to work to own initiative
